What a week!
Im so sorry about the messy start this week. You have all been very patient and I really appreciate that. By now you should have started your profiles and tomorrow I will be taking your photos :) By Tuesday next week our profiles will be complete and we can move onto Blogs!

Welcome
Welcome to Year 9 Media. This class will run for Term 2 only. You will work in Room 219 and in computer labs and around the entire school.
Media is awesome! It is the best subject ever because we learn how to make stuff like blogs and tv ad's and new products. If you love Media you can take it again in Year 12 and Year 13 and you can study it at University.
This blog is just for you. This is where I can ask you questions and you can answer. This is where I can give you homework tasks and you can complete them online at home.
Your first task in Media is to set up your own blog.
Blog is short for weB LOG - a place where you write a log on the web.
People have different reasons for starting a blog.
THINK - why would someone have a blog?
PAIR - turn to the person sitting next to you - introduce yourself
SHARE - tell them why you think someone would have a blog, then listen carefully to what your partner thinks
Using the same process answer this question:
THINK - Why is Mrs Matatahi making us create a blog?

You are now going to create your own blog using blogger.com
BUT first we need to discuss some boundaries for using the internet.
CLASS DISCUSSION :) All eyes on me.
Back to the fun stuff
1. You need to go to File and open a New Window
2. Type in www.blogger.com
3. Follow the instructions on the website
